I’m David, the maker behind Old Magnolia Wood Works. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve enjoyed building things and figuring out how they work.
While in school, I worked as an electrician alongside builders and other tradespeople, learning the basics of many trades. Becoming an engineer strengthened my attention to detail and gave me the confidence to take on new and complex projects.
After becoming a homeowner, I began making practical pieces for the house—planters, birdhouses, end tables, and more. What started as a hobby has grown into a passion.
My interests extend beyond woodworking. I enjoy combining wood with metalwork, lighting, electrical design, and automation. Some projects explore concealed firearm storage in furniture; others bring a new idea or unexpected feature to an everyday piece. CNC work is also on the horizon.
This site is where I share finished projects, experiments, and the process along the way.
